With a location rivaling its sister hotels of the New Orleans Hotel Collection, this is an intimate, comfortable location from which to explore the historic district that surrounds you, and dine conveniently at the famous restaurants less than a block away (Arnaud’s, Redfish Grill, Revolution, Broussard’s, and more).
Best Dressed Madame
This hotel is so gay friendly, they have a BEST DRESSED MADAME contest every year! It was hilarious, and fun, and friendly. It honors May Baily, the owner of the Bordello that used to be on the site in the late 1800's. She ran "lewd and abandoned" women according to the license on the wall! Very appropriate, and this place is only a block away from Bourbon Street - making it close but serene! Well worth the money! -john.doah.731
.......to stay, at least it was in 2008 when I was there. Since then I have been involved in parking in the garage. The staff never fails to be very gracious and accommadating. Very GLBT friendly. Also addressing me by the correct pronoun when dressed. -VickieCollins
Lovely little French quarter gem
This small boutique hotel in the French quarter is perfectly situated. Just one block away from Bourbon St but very quiet. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. The front desk staff are friendly. The bar annex was open although the main bar closed for renovations, but a nice place to have and end of the night drink in the courtyard. There is on site parking, both self and valet. -Tracy B, Mississauga
Great hotel in a great location!
Very impressed with our stay! We were greeted by Lacey at reception, who was friendly and helpful, assisting us with choosing the right activities and tours to suit our group.
Our room was located in the Main House. The room and bathroom were classically styled and larger than most hotel rooms. We also had a small balcony overlooking the pool.
The location is perfect, right in the French Quarter, easy to walk everywhere. Despite being right amongst the action, the room was quiet and the pool area is a perfect little haven when you need a break!
This hotel offers great value- you even get a free welcome drink and a basic breakfast included! We loved it, and would definitely stay here again! -Rebecca G, Melbourne, Australia

New Orleans Nightlife: May Baily's Place
Our French Quarter bar, May Baily's Place, was once one of the better known bordellos as part of the red-light district, known as Storyville, that existed from 1897-1917 in New Orleans. The modest cottage at 423 Rue Dauphine, built in 1821, was once one of the better known bordellos operating on the fringe of Storyville. Today May Baily’s Place is decorated in a Victorian style with portraits of madams by New Orleans’ famous Storyville photographer E.J. Bellocq. A framed copy of the operating license issued to May Baily is displayed at the bar. Our Bordello guest suite takes an appropriate featured place above May Baily's, and a red light still burns in the courtyard next to it as a testimony to its history.
The red light, the memorabilia and the Baily name are all that remain of an era that made even decadent old New Orleans blush.
